The movement is mounted in a large drum with super lions mask handles and a large finial to the top. It is made of the most beautiful variegated specimen marble, to the top is a large and flamboyant figure of an eagle, and to each side a beautifully depicted Greek Sphinx. Two dragons stand guard, supporting the movement and dial held aloft in a drum. A finely fretted panel allows the pendulum to be glimpsed swinging within the case.
