Large Antique French Gilt Brass Clock

A large and stunning original antique French gilt brass table clock. It is Baroque in style, an elaborate waisted shape with an intricately fretted front allowing the pendulum to be seen swinging within the case. To the front is a goddess mask, to the sides are pillars formed of scrolling foliage and fruit and to the top is a handled urn with mythical creatures. It stands on large hairy paw feet. It is of excellent quality with a lovely clean and bright original gild. RSC2260.

A lovely ormolu mounted white marble portico clock. It is classical in style, tall and slender and very chic. It features the winged figure of Cupid carrying his torch to light the flame of love. The movement is held in a drum above the 4 columns and the pendulum, modelled in ormolu as a classical urn, swings beneath.
