A superb clock set by the famous maker Japy Freres.  It is Classical in style, the clock has four ebonised corner columns with pineapple finials, a heavy base with acanthus leaves and is surmounted by an urn with swags, Reynolds's angles and a flaming torches finial. A Beautiful and Majestic Japy Freres antique cartel wall clock in stunning condition. The clock is finely and heavily made from brass. The movement is mounted in an ornate drum which is suspended from an ornate bracket. To each side of the dial are dragons which are particularly nicely modelled. A large and stunning Japy Freres clock set of gilt metal mounted with the most exquisitely painted porcelain, with pompadour blue ground in the manner of Sevrés. The two urns are painted with scenes of ladies of leisure. One is playing a harp next to a classical ruin and the other is painting. The dial is decorated with a cherub and a bow and quiver of arrows and is also signed by the Paris retailer Henry Marc
