An interesting and very decorative clock with a cherub seated on a swing acting as the pendulum. The gilt metal case as 4 slender twisted columns with continuum capitals. The top is surmounted by a nesting bird and the front has a classical mask

A Stunning Table clock by the well known maker Japy Freres. It is beautifully made in gilded brass and features classical motifs. Fortuna, goddess of good fortune is depicted on each side carrying a horn of plenty, a Cornucopia. To the top is a cherub seated on a globe, above the dial is a lions mask and below is Fortuna again with a swag of abundance.
