Antique French Ormolu, Bronze and White Marble Clock - Bacchus and Ariadne

A large and stunning, original French antique, classically designed clock of exceptional quality. White marble base is mounted with ormolu (fine gilded bronze or bronze doré) and patinated bronze.  It features Bacchus and Ariadne with a panther, eating grapes and drinking wine. Both figures are beautifully modelled and finished in bronze with a lovely deep brown patina.

A stunning, large, Japy Freres table clock. It is beautifully modelled in gilded brass and features cherub pillars to the sides and a large flamboyant finial. It has it's original integral base upon which mythical creatures carry the clock above stylised waves. The front of the clock is fretted to allow the pendulum to be glimpsed swinging within.

A substantial and glorious, original early antique French clock of the most stunning quality and condition. Standing at almost 2 feet in height, it is most exquisitely modelled in ormolu (fire gilded bronze or doré bronze), in excellent clean and bright original condition. It dates from around 1830 and features and artist, resting on an ancient architectural ruin, drawing in a sketch book. To his side is his folio, Mahl Stick and brushes.

A fine and early original antique French ormolu (gilded bronze) clock depicting the celebrated French explorer Captain Jean-Francois Galaup Lapérouse (1741-1788). Lapérouse was appointed in 1785 by Louis XVI to lead an expedition around the world, this ultimately ended in tragedy with his ships wrecked on Vanikoro.......
