detailed gilt brass clock in excellent condition, much of the original gilding
remains which is in lovely bright and clean condition. Particularly unusual is
the original gesso base which is ebonised with gilt decoration. It is modelled
in the Baroque style with mythical creatures to the sides |

~ French - Circa 1870 ~ ~~ Excellent condition ~~ A superb and early antique French Cartel wall
clock. It is beautifully made in brass, in the classical style. It is boldly
modelled with scrolls, a broken arch pediment and a lions mask. Above the dial
is a coat of arms and below a Reynold's angel. The dial is enamel on copper with
a brass centre. it is complete with the hand cut and blued steel hands.

It is in the style of Louis XVI and is beautifully modelled in gilded brass. it is modelled as an acanthus wreath in which the dial is placed with a bow above. The top of the case has a handled urn with a floral finial. A bunch of acanthus leaves hang down from the base of the clock. |
