A very decorative French antique mantle clock. It is well modelled in gilt brass with winged mythical creatures to the front, scrolling foliage and a large elaborate urn to the top. It is not too deep in design so would fit easily on a mantle and it is beautifully clean and bright in its original gilding.

Early Antique French Portico Clock

An early and superb original antique French portico. Beautifully patinated bronze mounted with ormolu (fire gilded bronze or bronze doré) The movement and dial are suspended below the portico between the four Doric columns. The large faux temperature compensating pendulum swings below. The magnificent dial has the clockmakers signature Tarault, Faubourg, Saint Honoré, Paris inscribed. The ormolu is of fine quality with a beautiful original gild and the bronze has a lovely mellow patination.

A stunning original French antique Portico clock. It is in the style of Louis XVI and is designed to show the gilt brass pendulum visibly swing below the movement. The movement is supported above 2 Corinthian columns and an elaborate rear panel fretted with scrolling foliage. It is heavily modelled in gilt brass with beautifully chased detail.

A beautiful antique French gilt brass clock set with exquisitely decorated Sevres style porcelain panels and dial. The style is Rococo, waisted key hole shape decorated with elaborate 'c' scrolls and floral swags. The clock has a porcelain dial featuring a cherub with musical instruments and beneath this is a delicately painted scene of a young couple.

A very large and impressive original antique French gilt brass clock, standing at 23 1/2" in height. It is in the Baroque style with a bold, waisted case, flowing floral swags, a large urn and sitting on its original integral base with hairy paw feet. The design is bold, elaborate and well finished with good original gilding.
