Antique French Boudoir Clock
Louis XVI Style.

A very pretty French Boudoir clock, beautifully made from brass. The case is in the style of Louis XVI, architecturally modelled and decorated with mythical creatures and flowing foliage. The front of the case is fretted, allowing the pendulum to be seen swinging inside and the back door is glazed with bevelled glass allowing the movement to be seen. The modelling of the case is beautiful and is of the highest quality with sharp detail and the finish is clean, bright and fresh. The clock is only 4 1/2" deep and can therefore be easily accommodated on most mantles or side tables.

The dial is heavily moulded in brass, mounted with 12 individual enamel cartouche letters.

The French movement is of very good quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some very minor wear/discolouration. The dial has a chip and cracking to the number 10 cartouche, there are some very small chips to the other cartouches. The clock displays beautifully as you can see below. 

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
