Antique French Boudoir Clock

A very pretty French Boudoir clock, beautifully made from lacquered brass. The case is in the style of Louis XVI, architecturally modelled and decorated with mythical creatures and flowing foliage. The front of the case is fretted, allowing the pendulum to be seen swinging inside. The modelling of the case is beautiful and is of the highest quality with sharp detail and the lacquered finish is clean, bright and fresh.

The dial is enamel on copper with a cast brass centre and is complete with original blued steel hands.

The French movement is of the highest quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the movie below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some very minor wear and discolouration to the lacquer. The dial has a small chip beside the right hand winding hole.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
