Antique French Gilt Bronze Baroque Cartel Wall Clock ~ French - Circa 1870 ~ ~~ Excellent condition, fully working and tested ~~ A stunning original antique French cartel wall clock by Vincenti et Cie. It is beautifully modelled in gilt bronze in the Baroque style, Shield shaped with swan neck pediment, a grotesque mask below the dial. Above the dial a fountain with lions masks spout stylised water with mythical creatures above.

The super, large dial is enamel on copper with a heavy bronze centre, half-hour makers and original blued steel hands. It is covered by convex bevelled glass.

The French movement is by Vincenti and is of the makers usual high quality. It is in excellent clean and running condition. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video below to hear the bell and watch the clock running.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration. The dial is also in excellent condition with no damage.
