The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with its original blued steel moon hands and has the retailers signature. Please note that this type of clock does not have a glazed bezel or a rear door. The French movement is of good quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. The retailers mark 'L.D.' is on the movement backplate. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video below to hear the bell and watch the clock running! Condition of the case is good, there is some wear to the gilding and it has been polished to a clean and bright finish. The bezel opening of the case has a couple of holes that do not detract and the movement retaining ring is an old replacement. The dial has a slight chip and a faint hairline near the three o'clock position.
Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
About us - All of our clocks are original antiques, we source most of our clocks in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. We prefer to buy our clocks in original 'dirty' condition. We then clean the cases using a technique we have developed over many years. We employ two qualified clockmakers who overhaul the movements. Movements are thoroughly tested until we are satisfied that they will run trouble free. |
