Antique French Ormolu and Sèvres Porcelain Clock ~ French - Circa 1860 ~ ~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~ An exquisite antique French ormolu clock mounted with Sevres style porcelain. Made in finely gilded bronze, sculptured as a large gadrooned and handled urn, draped with acanthus garlands and decorated with flowers and foliage. The square base with semi-circular ends mounted with Sèvres style porcelain panels of flowers and a charming painting of a cherub.

The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with it's original finely fretted gilt hands and convex glass. The rear door is also glazed to allow the movement to be seen.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video to hear the bell and watch the clock running.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with slight wear and discolouration in places. The dial is also in excellent condition just some tiny nibbles to the winding holes. Porcelain is excellent with no damage. There is a slight casting fault to the right hand side of the case. The original glass has some light scratches. 

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
