The side vases feature acanthus finials and handles mounted to the same stunning marble as the clock. The dial is enamel on copper, exquisitely decorated with floral swags delicately painted between the numbers of the dial. Hands are gilded, fretted brass. The French movement is by Samuel Marti and has the makers 'gold medal 1900' mark on the back plate. It is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running! Condition of the case is excellent, marble has a very good polish with no major chips or scratches, just the usual tiny nibbles to the edges. Ormolu is also in very good condition with a bright and clean finish. Dial is in very good condition with no chips or scratches, just some slight nibbles round the winding holes. One back foot of one vase has been replaced at some time.
Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
