A stunning gilt brass table clock in excellent original condition and of a small size. The original gilding is very good, clean and bright. It is classically modelled with columns to each side of the dial. These are decorated with dolphins and the panel between the columns is finely fretted with two horns of plenty. Below this is a Reynold's angel. The clock stands on a base which is also finely fretted with scrolling foliage and acanthus leaf feet and the clock is surmounted by an urn with masks.

The dial is enamel on copper with a cast brass centre. It is complete with the original blued steel hands and covered by bevelled glass. The back door is glazed to allow the movement to be seen if displayed on a table.

The French movement is by A.D. Mougin and is of high quality as one would expect from this maker. It runs for 8 days and strikes half hourly on a bell, and is complete with original pendulum and bell. It has been fully overhauled by our clock maker and is in excellent working order. Condition is excellent, the case has a clean and bright finish with some minor wear or tarnish and there are no repairs or losses. The dial is also in excellent condition with some minor chipping around the right hand winding hole. The clock displays beautifully as you can see below!
