Movement is by
Vincenti and has the clockmakers "Medaille
D'Argent 1855' mark on the movement backplate. It is of very good
quality and has been fully overhauled and tested by our clockmaker. Pendulum is
an old replacement. It runs for 8
days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a sonorous coiled gong.
Click the video clip below to hear the gong and watch the clock running!
Condition of the case is
excellent, very little loss to the shell veneer which has mellowed to a lovely
antique red-brown. The veneer does have some light surface scratches some slight
cracking and a couple of very small losses. Ormolu is in excellent condition,
clean and bright and recently cleaned and lacquered. The brass inlay on the
shoulders of the top may have been replaced in the past. the dial is also in
beautiful condition, no chips, just a couple of very light scratches. The
retailers signature is a little rubbed.

About us
- All of our clocks are original antiques, we source most of our clocks in
France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. We prefer to buy our clocks in
original 'dirty' condition. We then clean the cases using a technique we have
developed over many years. We employee two qualified clockmakers who overhaul
the movements. Movements are thoroughly tested until we are satisfied that they
will run trouble free.
