Antique French Brass Boudoir Clock Set

A small Rococo antique French clock set by Japy Freres, stunning in its original gilt brass finish. The style is classically Rococo, the case is a waisted keyhole shape, decorated with leafy 'C' scrolls and floral swags. Candelabra have conforming bases which are surmounted by urns to which sit the 5 light candelabrum. These are complete with original snuffers. The modelling is fine and crisp and the finish of the gilding is clean and fresh.

Dial is enamel on copper with egg and dart bezel and bevelled glass. it is complete with original blued steel hands.

The Japy Freres movement is of the high quality one would expect from this maker. It runs for 8 days and is complete with pendulum. It has been fully overhauled by our clock maker and is in excellent working order. Click the movie below to watch the clock running!

Condition is excellent, the case has a clean and bright finish with some minor wear or tarnish. The candelabra arms are slightly distorted. The dial is also in excellent condition, with no chips or scratches, just some very faint hair lining. The set displays beautifully as you can see below!

Complete with pendulum, and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
