Very Large Gilt Brass Clock with Lions.

A very large and stunning antique French bracket or table clock, classically styled and made of gilded brass/bronze. It stands at 2 feet in height and features beautifully modelled ornate lions masks handles to each side, a lions mask beneath the dial and a goddess above. it stands on large paw feet and the front of the clock is deeply and elaborately fretted to allow the pendulum to be seen swinging inside the case.  

The dial is enamel on copper with a cast brass centre and is complete with original blued steel hands.

The French movement is of the highest quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some very minor wear to the original gilding on the high spots. The dial has some chipping around the winding holes and a small crack next to the left hand winding hole. There is also some light hair lining over the dial. A stunning addition to your collection!

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
