A large and decorative clock set by Louis Japy, with the original gilding in good, clean and bright condition. The clock is classical in style with a restrained architectural flavour. The candelabra have matching bases and 4 arms and are complete with a pair of snuffers. The beautiful dial is enamel on copper and is complete with the original blued steel hands.

The French movement is by Louis Japy and has the Luis Japy mark on the movement backplate. It is of excellent quality runs for 8 days, striking half-hourly on a bell. It is Complete with its original pendulum. Our clockmaker has cleaned and serviced the movement, it is in excellent clean and running condition - click the movie below to see and hear the movement working!

Condition of the case is very good with a bright and clean finish, there is some wear to the original gilding and some tarnish in places. The dial is in good condition a faint hairline and some very very minor chipping around the winding hole and the number seven. The candelabra arms are very slightly distorted and the is some minor cracking in a couple of the sconces. One candelabra side decoration has a small crack which may be an original casting fault. The set displays very well as you can see in the pictures below.  

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
