Antique Brass Drum Head Table Clock.

A  beautifully proportioned 'drum head' table clock, made from lacquered brass and of particularly good quality. The movement is fitted in the drum of the case and has a finely decorated brass dial with 12 individually enamelled cartouche letters for the hours. This sits on a splayed and fretted base which allows the pendulum to be glimpsed swinging. To the sides of the case are goddess masks with flowing floral swags to the base and above is an urn of plenty with gothic mask side handles. The modelling of the case is beautiful and is of the highest quality with sharp detail and the lacquered finish is clean, bright and fresh.

The back door of the clock is glazed to allow the movement to be seen.

The French movement is of the highest quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the movie below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some very minor wear and discolouration to the lacquer.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
