Antique French Rococo Gilt Brass Boudoir Clock Set

A beautiful original antique French boudoir candelabra clock set. It is very nicely modelled in the Rococo style in gilded brass and is profusely decorated with floral swags, 'C' scrolls and acanthus leaves. To the top is a large and elaborate foliate finial and the sides are fretted to allow a glimpse of the pendulum swinging within. Candelabra are conforming in style with 4 dainty braches.

The dial is enamel on copper with blue hour ring and black minute ring. It is complete with its original delicately fretted brass hands and acanthus bezel.

The French movement is by A. D. Mougin and is the makers usual high quality. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in very good condition, there is a light scratch from the centre of the dial towards the 2 o'clock. Candelabra are slightly distorted.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
