Antique French Gilt Brass Table Clock.

A stunning large gilt brass table or bracket clock. Classical in style, with ornate goddess handles and blind fretted panels of foliage and flowers. To the top is a flaming finial above an urn with rams head handles. It sits on substantial acanthus scroll feet.

The dial is also gilt brass and features 12 individual enamel cartouche letters and convex glass.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. The retailer / clockmakers mark is on the movement backplate. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some very minor wear to the original gilding on the high spots. The finial has an old repair which is hardly noticeable. The dial has a chip on the number 2 cartouche and a tiny chip on the 6.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
