A very decorative clock set, very well modelled in gilt brass, by Samuel Marti. Style is French gothic, architectural in shape and covered with flowing entwined foliage rather like a romantic ruin.

Gilding is in stunning original condition, bright and fresh with hardly any wear or discolouration. The dial is also gilt brass with an enamel chapter ring which is lettered in black roman numerals with red half hour markers. It is complete with the original blued steel hands. Candelabra are complete with snuffers.

The Samuel Marti French movement is of excellent quality, runs for 8 days and strikes half-hourly on a bell. Backplate has the clockmakers mark. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. We have replaced the missing pendulum. Click the movie below to see and hear the movement working!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright gilding. The original glass has some very light scratching to the middle which is not noticeable. Candelabra arms are very slightly distorted and two sconces have old replacement pans, the set displays very well as you can see in the pictures below.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
