Stunning Porcelain Boudoir Table Clock

A large and stunning porcelain cased boudoir clock by the famous maker Japy Freres. Case is continental porcelain, elaborately and profusely decorated with floral bocage, delicately painted in a variety of colours against the light green ground of the body. It is a classic Rococo asymmetric shape, modelled with 'C' scrolls. Three cherubs are seated around the dial which is also delicately painted with a cherub on a cream background. To the base, lovers meet in a country landscape with a chateau in the distance. Figures are beautifully modelled and decorated.           

Japy Freres movement is of superb quality, runs for 8 days and strikes half-hourly on a bell. It has been fully restored in our workshop and is in excellent clean and running condition. The pendulum is a new replacement. Click on the video below to watch this actual clock running!

Condition of the case is very good, there are some minor losses to the bocage and one cherub has a hand missing. A small tip of a scroll of the body is also missing. Dial is also in excellent condition with no chips or scratches.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
