Antique French Ormolu and Variegated Marble Boudoir Clock Set.

A stunning antique French boudoir clock set, beautifully made of white variegated specimen marble and ormolu. Clock is in the shape of a portico with the sunburst pendulum swinging between the pillars. Original pendulum is also ormolu with a blued steel rod. Specimen marble itself is a lovely pinkish white with silver grey striations running though it. The clock movement is housed in an ormolu drum sitting on top of the marble pillars. It has a beautiful enamel dial which is decorated with floral swags and is complete with the original delicately fretted gilt brass hands. Clock is surmounted by a pair of gilded love birds. The marble urns stand on serpentine shaped bases to match the clock.

Antique French movement runs for 8 days and strikes half-hourly on a bell. It has been fully restored in our workshop and is on excellent clean and running condition. Click the movie below to see and hear the movement working!

Condition of the case is excellent. Ormolu has a bright and clean finish with just some very minor discolouration in places. The specimen marble is in excellent condition with a lovely finish and just a couple of very very minor nibbles to the edges. Dial is also in excellent condition with just a couple of slight nibbles round the winding holes.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
