Antique French Classical Cartel Wall Clock

A lovely, small sized, original antique French wall clock. It is classical in style, modelled in gilded brass and features eagles heads to the shoulders. The superb dial is enamel on copper with a gilt brass centre and blued steel hands. It has a separate minute ring and is covered with convex glass fitted to heavy egg and dart bezel. Above the dial is a goddess mask. Below the dial, the pendulum and be glimpsed swinging behind the case.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition just some tiny nibbles to the winding holes and a hairline near the 7 o'clock. The glass has some slight scratching to the centre. 

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
