Rococo Antique French Gilt Brass Clock Set

A stunning original antique French clock set. It is beautifully modelled in gilded brass in the Rococo style. Sweeping C scrolls, elaborately flowing floral swags and shells adorn the waisted shape. Candelabra are conforming in style with handled urns and arms of stylised foliage. Original snuffers sit in the central nozzles as finials. 

The stunning large dial is cream enamel on copper with a separate outside minute ring. It is complete with it's original finely fretted gilt brass hands and convex glazed Rococo bezel. The dial is signed to the centre by the retailer E. Chéron.

The French movement is of high quality and is by Vincenti. It has the clockmakers mark on the movement backplate. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition with no damage. Candelabra are slightly distorted. The original glass has some faint bubbles from new and a slight chip to the edge. The set makes a stunning display as you can see below.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
