A very decorative Japy Freres gilt brass clock set in excellent condition. It is French Gothic in style, with lions mask and hairy paw feet. It is constructed of brass with a gilded finish which is in excellent bright and clean condition.      

The dial is enamel on copper with a brass decorative centre and blued steel hands.

The Japy Freres French movement is of this clockmakers usual excellent quality and features dead beat pin-pallet escapement and superior rack striking. It runs for 8 days and is in very good clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. We have replaced the missing pendulum. Click the movie below to see and hear the movement working!

The case is in excellent original condition, bright and fresh with hardly any wear or discolouration. The enamel dial is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. Candelabra arms are slightly distorted as are some of the drip pans. The set displays beautifully as you can see in the pictures below!

Complete with pendulum and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
